Description

A classic recipe for rich and flavorful baked beans.


Ingredients

  • 2 (15 ounce) cans navy beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons molasses
  • 1 tablespoon yellow mustard
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the drained and rinsed navy beans, ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, yellow mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and black pepper. Stir until well combined.
  3. Pour the bean mixture into a 1.5-quart baking dish.
  4. Arrange the chopped bacon evenly over the top of the bean mixture.
  5. Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil.
  6. Bake for 1 hour.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15-20 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the beans are bubbly.
  8. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • For a sweeter flavor, you can add an extra tablespoon of brown sugar.
  • If you prefer a smokier taste, use a smoked bacon.
