- 4 cups sliced strawberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease an 8×8 inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the rhubarb, strawberries, granulated sugar, 1/4 cup flour, and vanilla extract. Mix gently.
- Pour the fruit mixture into the prepared baking dish.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the 1 1/2 cups flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, and cinnamon.
- Cut in the cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- Sprinkle the crumble topping evenly over the fruit filling.
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the filling is bubbly.
- Let the crumble cool for at least 15 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a richer dessert.
- You can substitute lemon juice for the vanilla extract if you prefer a sharper flavor in the filling.
