Description

Simple recipe for tender chicken cooked in a sweet and tangy honey mustard sauce using a slow cooker.


Ingredients

  • 2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup Dijon mustard
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Place chicken breasts in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together Dijon mustard, honey, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture evenly over the chicken.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours, or on high for 2 to 3 hours, until the chicken is cooked through and easily shredded.
  5. Shred the chicken with two forks directly in the slow cooker, mixing it with the sauce.
  6. Serve hot over rice or with vegetables.

Notes

  • For thicker sauce, remove the lid for the last 30 minutes of cooking.
  • You can use chicken thighs instead of breasts.
