Description

Simple recipe for grilled kabobs featuring sausage and shrimp.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 package (12 ounces) smoked sausage, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 red bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 green bell pepper, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1 large onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 8 wooden or metal skewers

Instructions

  1. Soak wooden skewers in water for 30 minutes if using.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Add shrimp, sausage, bell peppers, and onion to the marinade. Toss to coat everything evenly. Let marinate for 15 minutes.
  4. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Thread the shrimp, sausage, and vegetables onto the skewers, alternating ingredients.
  6. Place the kabobs on the preheated grill.
  7. Grill for 3 to 4 minutes per side, turning occasionally, until the shrimp is pink and cooked through and the vegetables are tender-crisp.
  8. Remove from the grill and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can substitute the sausage with pre-cooked kielbasa or andouille sausage.
  • If you prefer, you can substitute the bell peppers with zucchini or cherry tomatoes.
