Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, uncooked rice, chopped onion, milk, egg, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Mix well.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1-inch in diameter.
  4. In a medium saucepan, combine tomato sauce, Worcestershire sauce, basil, and oregano. Bring to a simmer over medium heat.
  5. Carefully place the meatballs into the simmering sauce.
  6. Cover the saucepan and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, or until the meatballs are cooked through and the rice is tender.
  7. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For a spookier look, you can add black food coloring to the sauce.
  • Ensure the meatballs are fully submerged in the sauce while baking.
