Grilled Cheese Pizza Sandwich

Description

A simple recipe combining the flavors of grilled cheese and pizza into one sandwich.


Ingredients

  • 4 slices bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup shredded provolone cheese
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano

Instructions

  1. Spread butter evenly on one side of each slice of bread.
  2. Place two slices of bread, butter-side down, in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
  3. Top the bread in the skillet with half of the mozzarella and provolone cheese.
  4. Spoon half of the pizza sauce over the cheese layers.
  5. Sprinkle half of the oregano over the sauce.
  6. Top with the remaining two slices of bread, butter-side up.
  7. Grill for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until the bread is golden brown and the cheese is melted.
  8. Remove from skillet, slice in half, and serve immediately.

Notes

  • You can add pepperoni slices between the cheese layers for extra flavor.
  • Use your favorite type of bread, such as sourdough or Italian loaf.
