Description
Rich, fudgy brownies with a creamy peanut butter swirl throughout.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup peanut butter, creamy
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a large bowl, mix the melted butter and granulated sugar until combined.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Pour about two-thirds of the batter into the prepared pan and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix the peanut butter, powdered sugar, and milk until smooth.
- Drop spoonfuls of the peanut butter mixture over the batter in the pan.
- Pour the remaining brownie batter over the peanut butter mixture.
- Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the peanut butter into the brownie batter.
- Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before lifting them out using the parchment overhang and cutting into squares.
Notes
- For cleaner cuts, chill the cooled brownies for at least one hour before slicing.
- Use room temperature eggs for better incorporation into the batter.
