Description
Simple recipe for baking bone-in pork chops in the oven until tender.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bone-in pork chops (about 1 inch thick)
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon dried thyme
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius).
- Pat the pork chops dry with paper towels.
- In a small bowl, mix together the salt, pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and thyme.
- Rub the olive oil over both sides of the pork chops.
- Sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over all sides of the pork chops, pressing lightly so it adheres.
- Place the seasoned pork chops in a single layer on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or foil.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 145 degrees Fahrenheit (63 degrees Celsius).
- Remove from the oven and let the chops rest for 5 minutes before serving.
Notes
- For juicier chops, use a meat thermometer to check for doneness.
- You can substitute dried herbs with fresh herbs if desired.
- If your chops are thicker than 1 inch, you may need to increase the cooking time slightly.
