Description

A creamy and flavorful shrimp pasta dish perfect for a romantic dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound linguine
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
  • 1 lemon, juiced

Instructions

  1. Cook linguine according to package directions. Drain, reserving about 1 cup of pasta water.
  2. While pasta cooks, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, until pink and cooked through. Remove shrimp from skillet and set aside.
  3. Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the same skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and sauce thickens.
  5. Return shrimp to the skillet. Add cooked linguine, parsley, salt, and pepper. Toss to combine.
  6. Add reserved pasta water a little at a time if needed to reach desired sauce consistency.
  7. Stir in lemon juice just before serving.

Notes

  • For a richer sauce, you can add a tablespoon of butter with the cream.
  • Garnish with extra parsley and a sprinkle of Parmesan cheese.
