A comforting and cheesy baked spaghetti dish, perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 teaspoons dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook spaghetti according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  3. In a large skillet, brown the ground beef with the chopped onion until the beef is no longer pink and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
  4. Stir in the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant.
  5. Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato sauce, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese.
  7. In a 9×13 inch baking dish, layer half of the cooked spaghetti.
  8. Spread half of the meat sauce over the spaghetti.
  9. Sprinkle half of the mozzarella cheese over the sauce.
  10. Repeat the layers with the remaining spaghetti, sauce, and mozzarella cheese.
  11. Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes.
  12. Remove the foil and bake for another 10-15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  13. Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • You can add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms to the sauce.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Ensure your spaghetti is al dente before baking as it will continue to cook in the oven.
