Description

Simple recipe for preparing flavorful Mahi Mahi fish tacos.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1.5 lb Mahi Mahi fillets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.25 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 small corn tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 0.5 cup lime juice
  • 0.25 cup chopped cilantro
  • For the sauce: 0.5 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons hot sauce, 1 tablespoon lime juice

Instructions

  1. Mix chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper in a small bowl. Rub the spice mix onto the Mahi Mahi fillets.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the fish for 3 to 4 minutes per side, until opaque and cooked through. Remove from heat and flake the fish with a fork.
  3. Warm the corn tortillas according to package directions.
  4. Prepare the sauce by whisking together mayonnaise, hot sauce, and lime juice in a small bowl.
  5. Assemble the tacos: Place flaked fish onto each tortilla. Top with shredded cabbage, cilantro, and a drizzle of the prepared sauce. Squeeze fresh lime juice over the filling before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute Greek yogurt for mayonnaise in the sauce for a lighter option.
  • For extra flavor, grill the fish instead of pan-frying.
