- 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken thighs
- 1 cup your favorite BBQ sauce
- 1/4 cup chopped onion
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Place chicken thighs in a slow cooker.
- In a bowl, mix BBQ sauce, chopped onion, brown sugar, smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
- Pour the BBQ sauce mixture over the chicken in the slow cooker.
- Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or until chicken is tender and easily shredded.
- Remove chicken from the slow cooker and shred with two forks.
- Return shredded chicken to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
- Serve the pulled BBQ chicken on hamburger buns.
Notes
- For a spicier flavor, add a pinch of cayenne pepper to the sauce mixture.
- You can also cook this in an oven-safe dish at 350°F (175°C) for 1.5-2 hours, or until cooked through.
- Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
