- 1 cup warm milk
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs, beaten
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and sugar. Let stand for 5-10 minutes until foamy.
- Add flour, salt, melted butter, and beaten eggs to the yeast mixture. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a 10-inch rope. Twist each rope into a spiral or knot.
- Place twists on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, minced garlic, parsley, and Parmesan cheese.
- Brush the garlic butter mixture over the risen twists.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the garlic butter mixture.
- Serve warm for the best taste and texture.
