Description

A quick and flavorful stir fry featuring tender chicken and crisp cabbage in a savory Chinese-inspired sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 medium head of cabbage, thinly sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, grated
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp hoisin sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine chicken pieces with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil. Let marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. Add marinated chicken and stir-fry until browned and cooked through. Remove chicken from skillet and set aside.
  4. Add garlic and ginger to the skillet and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  5. Add sliced cabbage and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together chicken broth, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, and sugar.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture over the cabbage and stir to combine.
  8. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss to coat with the sauce.
  9. Cook for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce has thickened slightly.
  10. Serve immediately over cooked rice.
