Ingredients

  • 1 pound flank steak, thinly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 1/2 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • Cooked rice, for serving

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the sliced flank steak with soy sauce and cornstarch. Toss to coat and let it marinate for 10 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add the marinated beef and stir-fry until browned, about 2-3 minutes. Remove beef from the skillet and set aside.
  3. Add broccoli florets to the skillet and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. In a small bowl, whisk together beef broth, oyster sauce, and brown sugar.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture into the skillet with the broccoli. Bring to a simmer and cook for 2 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Add the cooked beef back to the skillet along with sesame oil, minced garlic, and grated ginger. Stir everything together and cook for another minute until heated through.
  7. Serve immediately over cooked rice.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce.
  • Ensure your wok or skillet is hot before adding the beef to get a good sear.
