A simple recipe for rich and decadent chocolate waffles.
Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 large eggs
- 1 3/4 cups milk
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your waffle iron.
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and whisk until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Lightly grease your waffle iron.
- Pour about 1/2 cup of batter onto the hot waffle iron and cook according to the manufacturer’s instructions, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Repeat with the remaining batter.
- Serve immediately with your favorite toppings.
Notes
- For crispier waffles, you can add an extra tablespoon of oil.
- You can add chocolate chips to the batter for extra chocolatey goodness.
- Leftover waffles can be reheated in a toaster or oven.
