Grilled California Avocado Chicken

Description

A simple and flavorful grilled chicken dish featuring fresh California avocados.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 ripe California avocado, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together olive oil, lemon juice, oregano, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Place chicken breasts in a shallow dish and pour the marinade over them. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.
  4. Grill chicken for 6-8 minutes per side, or until cooked through and internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
  5. During the last 2 minutes of grilling, place avocado slices on the grill to warm them slightly.
  6. Serve grilled chicken topped with warm avocado slices.

Notes

  • You can add a sprinkle of red pepper flakes for a touch of heat.
