Description
A straightforward recipe for grilling fresh asparagus spears until tender-crisp.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound asparagus spears
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 lemon, cut into wedges (for serving)
Instructions
- Prepare the grill for medium-high heat.
- Wash the asparagus and snap off the tough, woody ends.
- Place the asparagus in a bowl and toss with olive oil, salt, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Place the asparagus directly on the grill grates, perpendicular to the grates to prevent falling through.
- Grill for 5 to 8 minutes, turning occasionally, until the asparagus is tender-crisp and has light char marks.
- Remove from the grill and serve immediately with fresh lemon wedges.
Notes
- For easier handling, you can thread the asparagus onto skewers before grilling.
- If you prefer a stronger flavor, add 1 clove of minced garlic to the oil mixture.
