Simple Garlic Shrimp

Description

A quick recipe for cooking shrimp with garlic and butter.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Pat the shrimp dry with paper towels and season lightly with salt and pepper.
  2. Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Add the shrimp to the skillet in a single layer. Cook for 1 to 2 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  5. Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and let it simmer for 1 minute, scraping up any browned bits from the bottom of the pan.
  6. Remove the skillet from the heat. Stir in the lemon juice and chopped parsley.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt and pepper if needed.

Notes

  • Serve immediately over pasta, rice, or with crusty bread for dipping in the sauce.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
