Simple Garlic Butter Pasta

Description

A quick and easy pasta dish coated in a rich garlic butter sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta (spaghetti or linguine recommended)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup pasta water
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions until al dente. Reserve about 1/2 cup of the starchy cooking water before draining.
  2. While the pasta cooks, melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  3. Add the minced garlic to the skillet and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  4. Drain the pasta and add it directly to the skillet with the garlic butter.
  5. Add 1/4 cup of the reserved pasta water and the Parmesan cheese. Toss everything together until the sauce coats the pasta evenly. Add more pasta water if the sauce seems too dry.
  6. Season with salt and black pepper to your preference.
  7. Stir in the fresh parsley.
  8. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use high-quality butter for the best flavor.
  • If you prefer a richer sauce, add a splash of heavy cream along with the pasta water.
  • For a slight kick, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
