Ingredients

  • 1 pound pasta
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (28 ounce) can crushed tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
  3. Stir in crushed tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Bring to a simmer and cook for 10 minutes.
  4. Add cooked pasta to the skillet with the sauce. Toss to combine.
  5. Stir in fresh basil and Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • For a spicier dish, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
  • You can add cooked chicken or shrimp for a heartier meal.
