Ingredients

  • 3 pounds pork shoulder
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 24 slider buns
  • Optional toppings: coleslaw, pickles, sliced jalapeños

Instructions

  1. Place pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Add chopped onion and minced garlic.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the pork in the slow cooker.
  4. Cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours, until the pork is tender and shreds easily.
  5. Remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it with two forks.
  6. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and stir to coat with the sauce.
  7. Serve the pulled pork on slider buns with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • For a quicker version, you can cook the pork in an Instant Pot on high pressure for 60 minutes, followed by a 15-minute natural release.
  • Adjust the amount of brown sugar and vinegar to your taste preference.
  • Leftover pulled pork can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
