Description

A simple and flavorful dish featuring baked feta cheese with eggs, inspired by Mediterranean flavors.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block (7 oz) feta cheese
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
  • Crusty bread, for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the block of feta cheese in the center of a small oven-safe skillet or baking dish.
  3. Drizzle the feta with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with black pepper, oregano, and red pepper flakes if using.
  4. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the feta is softened and slightly golden.
  5. Carefully make four wells in the softened feta using the back of a spoon.
  6. Crack one egg into each well.
  7. Drizzle the remaining 1 tablespoon of olive oil over the eggs and feta.
  8. Return the dish to the oven and bake for another 8-12 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and the yolks are cooked to your desired consistency.
  9. Garnish with fresh parsley.
  10. Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping.

Notes

  • You can add other Mediterranean ingredients like cherry tomatoes, olives, or spinach to the dish before baking.
