Description
Homemade garlic knots are a simple bread treat that you can make at home.
Ingredients

- 1 package active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley
Instructions
- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Let stand for 5 minutes until foamy.
- In a large bowl, combine flour and salt. Add yeast mixture and olive oil. Mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead dough on a floured surface for 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Punch down dough and divide into 12 equal pieces.
- Roll each piece into a rope and tie into a knot.
- Place knots on a greased baking sheet. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
- In a small bowl, combine melted butter, minced garlic, and parsley. Brush over warm knots.
Notes
- You can add grated Parmesan cheese to the butter mixture for extra flavor.
