Description

A straightforward recipe for a traditional Cobb Salad featuring layers of fresh ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 large chicken breasts, cooked and chopped
  • 4 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled
  • 2 hard-boiled eggs, chopped
  • 1 cup cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese
  • 4 cups mixed greens (romaine, iceberg)
  • 1/4 cup red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 cup olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare a simple vinaigrette by whisking together red wine vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper.
  2. Arrange the mixed greens on a large platter or in individual bowls as a base layer.
  3. Arrange the remaining ingredients in neat rows over the greens: chicken, bacon, eggs, tomatoes, avocado, blue cheese, and Swiss cheese.
  4. Drizzle the vinaigrette over the salad just before serving.

Notes

  • You can substitute grilled turkey for chicken.
  • For a crispier bacon, cook it slowly over medium heat.
  • Store the dressing separately until ready to serve to keep the greens crisp.
