- 1 large egg

- Vegetable oil for frying
- For the Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the chopped apples.
- Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, working in batches. Do not overcrowd the pot.
- Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and place on a wire rack set over paper towels to drain.
- While the fritters are still warm, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
- Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritter bites.
- Let the glaze set slightly before serving.
