Description

These Cinnamon Glazed Apple Fritter Bites are small, sweet treats bursting with apple and cinnamon flavor, coated in a delightful glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1 cup chopped apples (like Honeycrisp or Fuji)
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • For the Glaze: 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 23 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together milk, egg, and melted butter.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  4. Gently fold in the chopped apples.
  5. Heat about 2-3 inches of vegetable oil in a heavy-bottomed pot or Dutch oven over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the hot oil, working in batches. Do not overcrowd the pot.
  7. Fry for 2-3 minutes per side, until golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Remove fritters with a slotted spoon and place on a wire rack set over paper towels to drain.
  9. While the fritters are still warm, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth. Add more milk if needed to reach desired consistency.
  10. Drizzle the glaze over the warm fritter bites.
  11. Let the glaze set slightly before serving.

Notes

  • Ensure the oil reaches the correct temperature before frying for best results.
  • Chopped apples should be small enough to cook through quickly.
  • The glaze can be adjusted to your sweetness preference.
