Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit. Grease and flour a 9-inch round cake pan.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Press the dough evenly into the prepared cake pan.
- Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the center is set.
- Let the cookie cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.

- You can add a simple powdered sugar glaze or frosting if desired.
