Description

A simple recipe for shrimp cooked in butter and garlic, served over cooked rice.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups cooked white rice
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Pour in the white wine or chicken broth and lemon juice. Bring to a simmer.
  5. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 1 minute, stirring to coat the shrimp with the sauce.
  6. Serve the butter garlic shrimp immediately over the cooked white rice.
  7. Garnish with fresh chopped parsley.

Notes

  • You can substitute chicken broth for white wine if you prefer not to use alcohol.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the garlic.
