Description

Simple recipe for turkey meatballs coated in a sweet and savory brown sugar glaze.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground turkey, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, onion, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Do not overmix.
  3. Roll the mixture into small, uniform meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Bake the meatballs for 15 minutes.
  5. While the meatballs bake, prepare the glaze. In a small saucepan, whisk together the brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, and Worcestershire sauce.
  6. Heat the glaze mixture over medium heat, stirring until the brown sugar dissolves and the sauce simmers lightly. Remove from heat.
  7. Remove the meatballs from the oven. Gently toss the hot meatballs in the brown sugar glaze until fully coated.
  8. Return the glazed meatballs to the baking sheet. Bake for an additional 5 to 7 minutes, or until the glaze is slightly caramelized and the meatballs are cooked through.

Notes

  • You can substitute ground chicken for ground turkey if desired.
  • For easier cleanup, you can use toothpicks to serve the meatballs.
