A quick and easy recipe for basic cooked oatmeal made without eggs.
Ingredients

- 1 cup rolled oats
- 2 cups water or plant milk
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
Instructions
- Combine oats, water or plant milk, and salt in a small saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 5 to 7 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the oats are creamy.
- Remove from heat. Stir in maple syrup and cinnamon.
- Serve immediately.
Notes
- Add fresh berries or sliced banana for extra flavor.
- Stir in 1 tablespoon of chia seeds during the last 2 minutes of cooking for added thickness.
