Description

A simple recipe for baking shrimp in a garlic butter sauce.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup dry white wine or chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit (200 degrees Celsius). Lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Do not let the garlic brown.
  3. Stir in the white wine (or broth), lemon juice, and red pepper flakes. Bring the mixture to a simmer.
  4. Place the shrimp in the prepared baking dish in a single layer.
  5. Pour the garlic butter sauce evenly over the shrimp. Season with salt and pepper.
  6. If using, sprinkle breadcrumbs over the top.
  7. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until the shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  8. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.

Notes

  • Serve immediately with crusty bread to soak up the sauce.
  • You can substitute chicken broth for white wine if you prefer not to use alcohol.
