Description
Simple recipe for cooking crab cakes in an air fryer for a crispy exterior and tender interior.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound lump crab meat
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1 large egg, lightly beaten
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
- 1/4 cup panko breadcrumbs, plus more for coating
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
- Cooking spray
Instructions
- Gently pick through the crab meat to remove any shell pieces.
- In a medium bowl, mix mayonnaise, egg, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, Old Bay seasoning, and parsley. Stir until just combined.
- Gently fold the crab meat into the wet mixture. Be careful not to break up the lumps too much.
- Add the 1/4 cup of panko breadcrumbs and gently mix them in.
- Form the mixture into 4 equal-sized patties.
- Lightly coat each side of the patties with additional panko breadcrumbs.
- Preheat your air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit (195 degrees Celsius).
- Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking spray.
- Place the crab cakes in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring they do not touch.
- Spray the tops of the crab cakes lightly with cooking spray.
- Air fry for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping them halfway through, until golden brown and heated through.
Notes
- Serve immediately with lemon wedges or your preferred dipping sauce.
- If your crab meat is very wet, you may need to add one extra tablespoon of panko breadcrumbs to help the cakes hold their shape.
