Description
A basic recipe for fresh cranberry sauce.
Ingredients

- 12 oz fresh or frozen cranberries
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 orange, zested and juiced
Instructions
- Combine cranberries, sugar, water, orange zest, and orange juice in a medium saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cranberries have burst and the sauce has thickened.
- Remove from heat. The sauce will thicken more as it cools.
- Transfer the sauce to a serving dish.
Notes
- This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks.
- For a smoother sauce, you can pulse it briefly with an immersion blender after cooling slightly.
